ESA Begins Collecting Entries for its Two Industry Award Programs

Winners to be Named this January during 2012 Co-Located Events in Irving, TX

October 25, 2011 – The Electronic Security Association (ESA) will honor those who have impacted the industry with two powerful award programs, both to be celebrated at its co-located Leadership Summit and ESI Forum events in January, 2012.

"We all work very hard in this industry and we don’t always take the time to recognize achievements," says Dom D’Ascoli, president of ESA. "We tend to focus on what we can do better and what is coming next in the industry. These award programs give us an opportunity to look back at the past year and celebrate the things we’ve excelled in. I believe this is vital for future success."

The two award programs, sponsored by Cygnus Security Media, are:

The Leadership Awards
This annual awards program acknowledges the contributions of outstanding chapters and individuals who have made a positive impact on the security industry.

The Leadership Awards recognize winners in the following categories:

  • 2012 Chapter Executive Director of the Year
  • 2012 Chapter President of the Year
  • 2012 Chapter Newsletter of the Year
  • 2012 NTS Instructor of the Year
  • 2012 NTS Training Coordinator of the Year
  • 2012 Chapter Website of the Year
  • 2012 Chapter of the Year

To Enter: All nominations must be made by November 30 at www.esa-summit.com/attend/awards.

This year's winners will be honored on Wednesday, January 11 at the Diamond Awards Dinner, sponsored by Interlogix, and held at the Cellar Restaurant and Bar. Winners in each category will receive recognition in ESA publications and the Chapter of the Year will receive a banner to proudly display at their meetings. In addition, everyone who participates in the nominating process will be entered into a drawing to win a prize.

The Best Practice Awards
The Best Practices Awards competition recognizes outstanding business processes in the electronic security integration industry.

A panel of industry experts will name best practices in each of the following categories:

  • Financial, Legal and Human Capital Management
  • New Technology Implementation
  • Profit-Generating Strategies
  • Production Management (Design and Installation)
  • Sales and Marketing Management

To Enter: Submit the information requested in the submission form, identifying the practice category and describing the practice and the quantifiable results it has yielded in 200-400 words. The form includes details on what constitutes a quantifiable result and a list of business procedure examples to spark your thought process.

Winners will be announced at the Best Practice Roundtable Session on Tuesday, Jan. 10, sponsored by Telguard, a division of Telular. Winners will receive an award and a $500 cash prize. The winning entries will be featured in ESA publications and on the ESI Forum website. Additional practices of merit will receive print and online publication coverage.
